Flat Rebate: Customer trades X, purchases Y and receives a fixed or tiered rebate
Fair Market Value (FMV) plus Rebate: Customer trades X where FMV is $50 and then purchases Y. The customer receives $100
Rebate only with FMV being credited to the business unit: Customer trades X where FMV is $50 and the rebate offer is $75. Customer purchases Y and receives $75. Your Business Unit gets the $50 FMV returned on the backend to subsidize the cost of promotion.
